Wondering How to Use Craft Ideas? Here's How

Have you been wondering how to use craft ideas you've found on the internet? Craft ideas are a lot like journaling prompts, they are meant to be used as a starting point for your creativity to take off. Take one idea and think of all the different ways you could make that project. Its kind of like asking a class of 30 first graders to each draw an apple. At the end of the activity you'll get 30 different unique apple masterpieces.

Let's take "make a paper plate horse mask" for example. I can think of at least 3 ways how to use this craft idea off the top of my head. 1 - draw a horse face on the plate, cut it out, and then add eye openings and ties. 2 - curve the plate into a horse face shape, add the eye openings, and then make the ties. Or 3 - use 2 plates. The first plate is used to make an eye-mask and the ears, while the second is used to make the muzzle and attached to the first plate.

I'll bet you could come up with a few more if you took a few minutes to think about it.

How many different ways could you make a 6 inch tall snowman decoration? Probably more than 1000 if you really sat down to think it over. Or how about different ways to make an ornament from a soda can? Or a recycled fabric tote bag? Next time you find a craft idea that captures your interest, take a minute to think of 3 ways you could make it. Use your favorite and write down the others in case you want to use them later. Now you know how to use craft ideas, you don't need to rely only on craft ideas that come with instructions.
